    Insurance

ParkMed Urgent Care is committed to providing affordable, accessible healthcare services for the greater Knoxville community. Our fees vary depending on the level of service provided. We accept most major insurance plans. In most cases, ParkMed Urgent Care fees and co-pays are substantially lower than those charged by other urgent facilities or hospital emergency rooms.

When possible, we will verify with your carrier if your deductible has been met. If it has not been met, or we cannot confirm an account status, you may be considered as a self-pay patient, and may be eligible for certain discounts if your bill is paid in full at time of checkout. Please call or visit one of our sites for detailed information about your particular situation, and we will work with you to make your visit affordable and convenient.

While it is impossible to participate with every insurance plan, we strive to accommodate all patients. Patients with out-of-network plans may be considered as self-pay patients, and may be eligible for certain discounts if your bill is paid in full at time of checkout. Please call or visit one of our sites for detailed information about your particular situation, and we will work with you to make your visit affordable and convenient.

Patients who do not have insurance coverage are welcome at our centers. You may be eligible for certain discounts if your bill is paid in full at time of checkout. Please call or visit one of our sites for detailed information about your particular situation, and we will work with you to make your visit affordable and convenient.

    FAQs

Do you have questions? Good, because we have answers! And if we don’t answer your question here, please feel free to contact the site administrator at the ParkMed location nearest you, or our TeamHealth corporate office. Please note that, for the safety of our patients, we cannot give medical advice of any kind via the Internet or phone.

    • What is an Urgent Care Center?

An urgent care center is used for episodic care for patients with sudden medical conditions that require treatment usually within 24 hours. When experiencing a non-life threatening situation (but could lead to potentially harmful outcome if not treated when immediate attention is required), a patient can receive treatment at ParkMed rather than seeking treatment at an emergency room. Patients should inform their Primary Care physician of such visit and consult him or her for follow up care. If the patient is in a life-threatening situation, please call 911 right away for care.

    • Do I need to make an appointment to visit ParkMed?

No, you never need an appointment to visit ParkMed. Come to ParkMed when you need prompt medical care.

    • How long will a visit to ParkMed take?

Most patients are treated and released in about an hour. However, visit times vary depending on the number of patients at the center and the severity of their injuries or illness.

    • Who will provide my medical care?

ParkMed centers are staffed by physicians who are skilled in the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses. Many physicians practice in local emergency rooms. All of our providers—physicians, physician assistants, nurses and radiological technicians—are dedicated to providing excellent medical care in a compassionate, respectful manner.

    • How much does an office visit cost?

Our fees vary depending on the level of services provided. Generally our fees are approximately one-third of those charged by emergency departments for similar procedures. Patients are required to provide payment or proof of insurance prior to treatment.

    • Do you accept my insurance?

ParkMed accepts most major insurance plans. Co-pays are determined by your insurance plan, but are usually much less than those for an emergency room visit.

    • Can I be seen without insurance?

All patients can be seen at ParkMed regardless of their status with an insurance provider.

    • Do you provide drug screening?

Yes, we provide DOT and non-DOT drug screening and breath alcohol testing. If you need a drug screen at the request of your employer, your company will need to set up an occupational medicine account through our corporate office by contacting:

Kellie Cunningham at 865.985.7085 or email her at Kellie_Cunningham@teamhealth.com

If you are seeking a personal screening and wish to pay for it directly, you make walk-in at your convenience.

    • Who is my account representative?

Kellie Cunningham at 865.985.7085 or email her at Kellie_Cunningham@teamhealth.com

    • Who do I call to correct or update protocol information on my account?
